Holiday News / Ministries

Each year Mission Marshall provides Christmas-oriented foods to clients in December so that they can provide a Christmas dinner for their families. Marshall churches sign up to provide certain foods to make this possible. This year 1st Methodist has pledged to provide 250 cans of cranberry sauce. If you would like to donate, there will be two boxes available (lobby & nursery entrance) to drop off cans. They will be delivered to Mission Marshall on November 20th.

It is that time of year when we begin to prepare our hearts for the celebration of the birth of our Savior. And what better way to prepare than to fill a shoebox for Operation Christmas Child (OCC), a project of Samaritan's Purse. OCC delivers into the hands of children all around the world, not only gifts to light up their world but most importantly, the gospel to fill their souls. Since 2009, over 46 million children have participated in a 12-lesson discipleship course, The Greatest Journey, and over half of those have made a decision for Christ. Won't you please help us this year by filling a shoebox for a needy child to show them God's love in a tangible way? Shoeboxes will be available for pickup at the entrance to the church this Sunday, October 19th. If you have any questions, please email Ruth Wilson. (6wilson@sbcglobal.net)

Stay tuned for updates as we continue to add new activities to our calendar!

Pastor David's sermon this Sunday will focus on God's passion, power, and purpose. Sermon notes can be found on our website under the "Resources" tab.

We pray you have a wonderful week going forward and hope to see you soon!
